General Psychologist/Clinical Psychology Registrar
Hi, I’m Cecilia.
I am a clinically trained psychologist who is dedicated to providing a warm and safe space where clients can feel supported to share and explore their concerns.
I have experience and enjoy working with children, adolescents and adults, across a broad range of clinical settings and client presentations. I am particularly passionate about supporting mums, dads and families in the perinatal period, including during pregnancy, preparation for birth, and postnatally with adjustment to parenthood, postnatal anxiety, depression, and processing of birth-related or earlier trauma.
I am dedicated to using evidence-based approaches to help clients understand their inner experience, and develop the skills and strategies that will support them to live a meaningful life, in line with their values. I primarily draw on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), mindfulness and attachment theory, adapting my therapeutic approach to suit the needs of each individual. Above all I value working flexibly and collaboratively with clients.
In addition to my clinical work, I am completing my PhD at the University of Wollongong. My research focuses on grief, trauma and coping in the context of ambiguous loss (loss that occurs without closure or clear understanding). Flowing from this, I have a special interest in helping people navigate grief, loss and situations in which there are high levels of uncertainty.
If you would like support in making lasting and meaningful change, I welcome the opportunity to work alongside you.
